I still kid my brother about his sleeping in a tent at China Beach (SeaBee)
building the hospital, while I sat in an air conditioned electronics shop at
stateside bases.


I was lucky. I had a 'hootch' at Cu Chi Base Camp. Didn't spend one night
in a tent. Hell, I even had a refrigerator in my hootch, won in a poker
game by the guy who was there before me. It was coincidental, I took his
company in Germany, when he went to Vietnam, and when I got to Vietnam I
took over his company there.
