I don't think that is the way out. We need massive infusion of capital
to get the economy moving, and corporate America ain't spending it.

Why should they? All they will do is become penalized via taxes.

Well, then, let them liquidate themselves so others who want to run a
business can fill the voids.

You have to be kidding. Businesses survive, employ people, provide
health plans, and grow because they can make a profit. Take that
incentive away and you get what we have now.

It isn't taxes that it keeping corporations from making money. It is a
crapped out economy and bad management.

More the economy. And government is a major cause of the economic woes.
It, under both major parties, has become a huge borrower, taking a lot of
capitol out of circulation. Encouraged overspending. The last stimulus
package was a failure, so BO is proposing 2x the failed program. I know you
do not care about your kids, if you ever had any, but all these people
crying for the government to save them from the pain of greed by themselves
are willing to put the pain on their kids, grandkids and great, great
grandkids. You could read it here a couple years ago when the cost of
buying a boat was discussed. A couple of posters said they did nto really
care what the boat cost as long as the monthly payment was affordable. 15
year loan on a $9000 boat. This Congress and the executive branch have
bungled the bailout. And BO is looking to 2x bungle it. The S&L bailout
could be an example. 3000 banks closed, but the resolution trust seemed to
handle it decently. None of the governments are talking about cutting their
spending! Local and states are figuring how to raise taxes and fees so they
can go along as if the economy does not matter. I do not have the answer,
but it appears our elected leaders do not either.
