Default I want to insulate my forward berth. What's the best insulation?

Here's advice from someone with zero experience of this cho
the best insulation is waterproof, I'd think.
And when it comes to closed cell foam, I see no problem with
white insulating board, maybe with a foil backing.
Score it if necessary to get the curve you need. and glue in place.
What could be the problem with this?

I'm re-doing the forward berth on my Westsail 32 and it involves removing some
ribbing, then putting in the insulation ( I was thinking of rolls of 'backed'
insulation.
I think they are backed with aluminum). Putting the roll in plastic to prevent
moisture from entering was another goal. I was wondering how thick it should
be and where to get it.

Thanks
