The wheels on the bus go thump, thump, thump... :)
Our elected pigs learn this **** at the local level, which is why it's good
to be involved with your local pigs, even if it just means paying very close
attention to projects which make absolutely no sense. Whenever a bad project
is planned, there is ALWAYS corruption behind it. Always.
Here, our town board proposed a 300 slip marina to serve transient boaters.
Just one problem: There was no demand for such a marina, and no business
plan indicating any market research. The project
would've ripped up a quarter mile of gorgeous scenery on a bay, and really
****ed off duck hunters & fishermen. To make a long story short, the project
was loved & sold (briefly) to the public by one council member who'd gotten
some hefty contributions over the years from one of our largest construction
firms. The company wanted something in return. Fortunately, enough citizens
turned on the lights and didn't like what they saw.
The contributions were legal. I still call it corruption.
