I could do without most of the TV, but my wife would raise hell.
Oh well.

Ditto on the wives bit!

One thing I learned pretty fast about marriage is when to hold and
when to fold. Gotta say there's a lot of folding going on.
This reminds me. I was talking to her just yesterday while looking at
the Comcast packages on the net. Among the stuff she lost was
"Lifetime" and some other "chick" channel. I lost C-span 2 and
Nat Geo. The next step up adds those back and quite a few more,
including the military channel. Can't remember them all.
I said, "It'll cost about 15 a month more for that package.
Should we get it?"
She just looked at me, but never answered. She ALWAYS has
an answer, even if it's "You decide."
So it looks like I found another way she has to say "Yes."
I left it at that, as the phone rang. But I'm going to go up a
package. I'm only living once, and she's got the same deal.

I'm paying about $185 for all the stuff from Cox. That includes telephone,
internet and TV. Every so often I'll call up and tell them I'm going to
cancel and go with Verizon. Time before last, they gave me a six months
deal, reducing my bill by about $35/mo. Then my bill jumped back up. I left
it there for a couple months, and then called and whined again. This time
they took $7.95 off for one year, but I have to stay with them for the year
(which I'd have done anyway).

So, you might try calling and whining. Maybe they'll give you the new
service free for six months. Hell, it's worth a try! Maybe you won't save
enough to buy a dinner at Mickey D's,. but you'll feel better.
