There is nothing complimentary about being called a jackal. The way I
used it here, it refers to the type of person who would scavenge from
the bad luck of others, such as breaking into a house to steal valuables
while the family is off at a funeral.
The people you are calling Jackals are those who are playing with you.
Have you had some bad luck recently? If so, I offer my condolences.
