How do you know whether or not it was warmed up? Also, most engines
that are in good shape keep running even when cold.

This just shows how LITTLE you know about motors, you asswipe. Maybe

Oh, there's LOTS of "maybe" things that could have been wrong. Let's
see, my uncle was an aviation machinist, I've been working on motors
since I was old enough to hold a wrench, I've wrenched on race cars
that my cousins owned, I ran a full service station once, we had a
working farm that we kept things running on, I raced motorcyles and
maintained them, I raced snowmobiles and maintained/rebuilt them, yet
you make wild assumptions without any knowledge. Oh, and it's an
engine. The word Engine is taken from the term "Heat Engine" which is
used to describe a device that converts Thermo Chemical Energy or Heat
Energy into Mechanical Work. Hence you can say that Jet Turbines,
Steam Power and Internal Combustion devices are in fact "Engines".

Whereas...

The word "Motor" was shortened from the original term "Electric Motor"
which is used to describe devices that convert "Electrical Energy"
into "Mechanical Work". Hence you can say that Drills, Winches, Saws
