Does anybody have any experience with plans from Kurt Hughes?

I have only seen one set of plans from Kurt Hughes. This set was for
a 40-foot cat and the drawings were very detailed and complete as
far as I can remember (this was 10+ years ago). I have heard from
others that your luck with plans from Kurt Hughes can vary a lot.

If you are concidering Kurt's cylinder mold technique I think you
should know that even Kurt himself says it is not for everyone.
The shape of the hulls can not be very precisely defined with
this building technique and some builders have a problem with that.

Is this a real problem?

It all depends on your personality I guess. If you don't mind a bit
of eye-balling and tweaking to get the intended hull shape and if
don't mind not being able to pre-fabricate close-fitting interior
parts you'll be OK. Ian Farrier and John Shuttleworth live at the
other end of the spectrum. They have everything specified in great
detail and get *very* upset if you try to change anything.

Disclaimer: I have not built anything to Kurt Hughes' plans myself
but I have met both happy and not so happy customers of his.
