Yes, I purchased it from HK Supplies. It worked great for a few month,
and then started to short out (this is just a guess), but it is based
upon my the fact that my batteries would drain completely in less than 5
minutes. When I removed the shutter release, it worked perfectly.
I had the same problem with the off brand battery grip. It worked great
for a few months, then my shutter froze open. The service dept.
replaced the shutter, only to have it reoccur in a few weeks. I solved
shutter problem by removing the battery grip.
I guess there is something to be said about you get what you pay for.
If you'd used it on your wife's Canon point and shoot, you may have had
better luck.
She has a Nikon D50, it is just that she takes better photos than I do.
Well, I don't know 'cause I've never, to my knowledge, seen any of hers.
Yours have been pretty damn good.
Actually, I was thinking of someone else whose better half is a much better
photographer than he is, even though she uses a point and shoot Canon.
