Yes, I purchased it from HK Supplies. It worked great for a few

I had the same problem with the off brand battery grip. It worked
great for a few months, then my shutter froze open. The service
dept. replaced the shutter, only to have it reoccur in a few weeks.
I solved shutter problem by removing the battery grip.
I guess there is something to be said about you get what you pay for.
If you'd used it on your wife's Canon point and shoot, you may have had
better luck.
She has a Nikon D50, it is just that she takes better photos than I do.
