Yes, I purchased it from HK Supplies. It worked great for a few month,
and then started to short out (this is just a guess), but it is based
upon my the fact that my batteries would drain completely in less than 5
minutes. When I removed the shutter release, it worked perfectly.

I had the same problem with the off brand battery grip. It worked great
for a few months, then my shutter froze open. The service dept.
replaced the shutter, only to have it reoccur in a few weeks. I solved
shutter problem by removing the battery grip.

I guess there is something to be said about you get what you pay for.

Can't figure why Harry would need it anyway. He's stated that he can
hand hold his camera zoomed out to 200mm and show no movement @ 1/60th.

I posted that information for anyone who is considering the off brand
accessories. I have heard others have had similar problems.

Thanks for the tip. It looked a little too good to be true. I have read
a couple of reviews of the device, though, and the writers of those
reviews seems to like it ok.

Did you have the "old" version or the new version?

There's "off-brand" and then there is "off-brand." I was going to buy a
Gitzo tripod but bought a Feisol instead. I'm really pleased with it. I
see very slight cosmetic differences between the Gitzo and the Feisol.
The ballhead I ordered should arrive this week. I'm not sure there is a
"non-off-brand" ballhead.

I see Loogy crawled in. There's a perfectly logical and obvious response
to his snarky inquiry, but why bother? It's just Loogy.
