Fitz said something a bit stronger than your misquote.

Considerably stronger. However, if you read the complaint, it appears,
at least to me, that there was contact with at least "[President-elect
Advisor]". IIRC, when they are referred to as Fundraiser A, or
Individual D, they are potential defendants. President-elect-Adviser
didn't have a letter after it, meaning they are probably clean. There is
a Senate Candidate 5 that seemed to be willing to play for pay.

The timing is somewhat interesting. I've read that, originally,
Fitzgerald wasn't going to indict Blagovich until spring, after Obama
considered his reappointment. The "seat selling" forced his hand.

Actually, that was the thinking, but...

Obama pressed the Illinois Senate to override the Governor's veto on
ethics legislation - which they did.

Thus, whats-his-face had to do all his money grubbing before the
Ethics Bill became law on January 1st, 2009.

When this "pay-for-play" thing came up, he had what he needed to move
forward.

And, this is really going to be good, Emmanual is smack dab in the
middle of the whole thing and is the contact between Obama and
whats-his-face. Obama has already thrown Axelrod under the bus - it's
only a matter of time before he throws Emmanual under the bus - it
seems to be his modus operandi.

With the nascent war brewing between Clinton and Rice plus the whole
Gietner thing (which by the way I think is unfair to him - he did what
he could), The Lightworker is going to be very busy.

The best part is that he hasn't even started in office yet. :)

It's going to be a fun four years I'll tell you what.

Heh, heh, heh...

You're just too hopeful.
