OK, the Tolman is my first boat with an outboard and I thought the 90
hp Yamaha had some sort of electric choke that I had no control over.
The shop manual says nothing about any sort of choke except an auto-
choke relay. However, a friend asked me if I used the choke when I
tried to start her. "Choke"? I asked, "What Choke". It seems that
the type 703 control unit actually has a choke control built into the
key where you push it in. Tonight I'll try it.
In my defense, I did buy the motor, control unit, and instruments offa
e-bay separately and none came with any instructions or wiring diagram
so I sorta had to figure it out and I guess I still am doing so.

(1) The 703 has a provision for a choke.

(2) Not all Yamahas have a "choke."

Some Yamahas have an enrichment circuit.
