Default so, what do you carry in your bag?

The plan is to head for Panama, work as a line handler for a while,
then when you find the right boat head off with them, probably to the

What do you put in the one bag that you take?

Shaun

my rigging gear, 5 pairs of socks. extra pair of shoes, 3 pair pants.
3 silk shirts, 5 silk under wear, 5 silk Tshirts. heavy sweater, teeth
(got more than one) brush. canvas. paper backs. note pad, stationary,
extra deck knife (that i like), return ticket with no return date
(that i would not let go of unless my mother was dieing), extra cash
in a hidden pocket.

if you are wondering about the silks, they pack small, are warm or
cool depending on how you layer and look nice even when getting a
little tatty. if its warm i dont wear much clothing if its cold i
layer. this is my temperate zone gear list my arctic gear list runs a
tad longer.

you might think of it this way take money with you and dont take a
bag. prices in most of the south american countries are way lower than
in the US so a single change of nice duds would serve till you get
into your departure point then go with good strudy local gear. best to
get stuff that allows you to move when stacked and will not wrinkle
badly. one outfit should be kept really spiffy and ironed for those
occasions when you need to dress up.

Others round here will have more to add im sure
