Similar thing happened when we made "the trip" years ago, going to Florida
on the Navigator.
My brother and another guy had taken some vacation time from work to go on
the voyage.
The first two or three days were constantly being interrupted for them with
their respective offices calling, looking for information on this or that.

On about the forth day, cruising along offshore, enjoying the view and ride,
I noticed my brother wasn't carrying his phone anymore. I asked him what
happened and he said he shut it off and put it in his travel bag. Later
that day, the other guy (he worked for a bank) chucked his cell phone
overboard.
