Oh, I was not taking a shot, just sayin'. Sure, most here would think
you are pretty comfortable, but at the same time, honest readers
understand you worked hard to get there and probably deserve it...

Didn't take your post as a "shot". I just get a kick out of assumptions
some people make.
I agree, we are comfortable and probably more so than most. But I also have
strong
memories of being very uncomfortable.

The biggest advantage we have right now is that our financial security and
retirement is not dependent upon funds earned in the stock market, direct or
via 401k's etc. For most of my working career, I really couldn't afford to
stash money away in retirement accounts. I needed every penny to survive
week to week.

That's not to say that 401k's are bad. We just got lucky.
