Obama was elected because he was the better, smarter candidate with a
solid running mate and with some ideas, running against a tired old man
with no ideas and a ditzy running mate completely unprepared for higher
office. The fact that McCain and Palin both endorsed a social
conservative agenda that the voters repudiated nationally makes Obama's
victory the sweeter.
