I think you meant 'ripples', not rapids.
Bentonville is where we have our access to the river, schitt-for-brains,
and what I stated is precisely correct: the area is mostly Stage/Class I
and Stage/Class II rapids, though there is at least one Stage/Class III
area on the South Fork I haven't tried. Yet. If you posted a photo, I
missed it. I don't often look at your links.

I like the way he answered my paddling questions. Simple questions
really for any paddler who has shot the rapids and he answers hours
later with a wiki page.. snerk. Guess he couldn't google the lariat,
strainer, and blade questions fast enough.. pfffffttt... If he shot
the rapids it was with his widdle toy cap guns and his widdle toy
holster, hat and plastic badge.. out frolicking in the woods with his
"life partner" stumpy..

"Shooting the rapids" for a guy who is so obsessed with only
professionals playing dangerous sports, or doing any kind of manual
labor, would suggest a more experienced or advanced paddler when it's
Harry talking about it. He insists that everyone should be a licenced
pro before you do anything, I assume he holds himself to the same
standards.. . You other guys and guys like me are allowed to have
fun.. No problem..

The lariat holds the boat to you, a strainer is a tree or other
submerged obstacle that could hold you andyour boat under water and
kill you, the blade should be in a place where it won't get hooked on
anything or lost, but you can get a hold of it to cut yourself out of
a strainer or away from your boat within seconds, underwater, blind,
first try, every time.... This particular maneuver is practiced as
much as "rolling" by folks who actually "shoot the rapids"... Which I
don't do intentionally at my age... Now I enjoy a nice flat paddle or
at most play in the surf or wake of big boats

To be fair to Harry, He says he goes paddling down a lazy river in his
canoe. That is a far cry from running the rapids in a kayak. He won't
take his big boat out in whitecaps. What makes you think he would risk
capsizing his canoe in swift water? If he actually stated that he ran
rapids in his canoe, I must have missed it. Read what he says carefully
and assume he is trying to mislead you.
