For years I've had people ask me where to find a wiring diagram for
their boat (and we see it asked in here every so often as well) and I've
always meant to post a generic one that would apply to most situations.
The fact is, there are VERY few boat companies that provide wiring
diagrams for their customers (or technicians) and those of us in the
field simply rely on experience and understanding of circuits to
diagnose and correct anomalies. So.......

I have created a rather crude one as a first version just to get it up
and test it, so you guys are the first to see it and make suggestions.
Things I have on my list for version 2 will include positive and
negative symbols on each accessory, better sound bites, a key, and some
text describing how it works. Improved graphics will come later, perhaps
by trying to fit it into a diagram that looks like a boat.

For now, simply click on the uncoloured (Canadian spelling) circle to
activate a 'switch' and watch and listen (turn your sound on!) :-)

Promise me one thing - please try and keep this thread on topic so I can
gather your input without having to filter for content. Thanks!

Very nice! I hope some of the electrically-inclined here can add
suggestions to make it cover more territory, and that you can
implement the suggestions with the flash programming.
Lucky for you most people won't do electrical work themselves, else
you'd hurt your business.
I've really never seen such a clear diagram, being the electrical
dummy I am.

It's pretty cool. One suggestion I have for the future updates would be to
include a float switch in the bilge pump circuit and show how it is wired,
both for manual and automatic operation.

And, I wanna hear an engine start! :-)
