That's a fine hair you're splitting. *Besides, many of those people
will actually get their FICA tax back in the form of EIC, which is
based on the FICA tax. *Once that gets phased out, you're currently
pretty much into the tax paying group.


That pretty much happens at about $8000 a year. EIC is zero at $17,500


Yup, that's what I'm saying. Many people that pay no taxes also get
their FICA back. Even people that pay a little tax continue to get
some FICA back, so FICA is a non-issue. With Nobama's plan there will
be even more people in this group, as the original poster was pointing
out, and the money will come from the "rich" Joe Plumbers. Ain't
wealth redistribution wonderful.
