What safety gear would you have near a propane
stove in the galley?

1 pt

1. Master shut off valve for propane.
2. Fire hood.
3. Cover for stove.
4. CO detector.
5. Vent fan.
6. Fire extinguisher located near exit.
7. Heavy duty oven mitts or M-60 barrel changing mitts.
8. Halon or purple K in a can/small bucket/bottle.
9. Propane leak detector.

All of which tells me only idiots would abide propane cook stoves aboard a
yacht.

You get 2pts there Wilbur. I got my safety gear list from a pamphlet on
propane safety by Harold Harris.

Mr Harris also recommended:

Stainless steel non arcing hand tools.
Fully hermetic circuit breakers.
Wye type ground connection to a single point to the water.
Electrostatic conductive carperting, counters and tops.
Heel ground strap.
Hull referenced electrometer with alarm.

I have a liquid fueled stove, it uses kerosene and hydrogen peroxide. Cooks
quickly and gets me up on plane in 5 seconds.
