According to these accounts, McCain, whose A4-E Skyhawk was queued up in
a line of jets waiting to take off, “wet started” his engine, a prank
designed to startle a trailing pilot with a flame of exploding kerosene.
Have you seen the video? Look at it and you will see the engine was
pointed over the side, not aimed at the plane that dropped the
 missile.
I suppose "swiftboating' is fair play but there is too much video and
official reporting to get much traction here.
I first saw the full Forrestal flight deck video in '75 at a reserve
damage control class. It was obvious the plane hit had no part
of the missile firing from clear across the deck.
You're right about the swiftboating, though.
Once the Reps went after Kerry's service, they put a target on the
back of every vet running for office, whether the charges are true or
 not, matter or not.
The Bush crowd gave all vets that legacy.
Vets' service isn't simply honored/respected - it is suspected and
questioned. Trash the vet's service for political points.
 Thanks GWB.

Kerry lied his ass off. That's why he got what he deserved.
McCain is lying his ass off. That's one of the reasons why he may get
trounced on the 4th of November.
