That is the extreme case where following the GC is of the most
benefit. Thirty five years ago I had a HP calculator that took
magnetic cards. I had the Nav pack and it would give the distance and
heading between two points. I think it would split it up into
waypoints for a better approximation.


Amazing how far technology has come. I've got a hand held GPS that will
calculate GCs and give you a constantly changing course to steer while
following them. I'll bet I could buy about 10 of them for what you paid
for your HP, (corrected to todays dollar or course).
