With the tides so wimpy on the Delta this week, I decided to try Hogan
one last time - this time drifting minnows. It would have been a
pretty successful trip if I had been targeting small mouth black bass,
but I wanted stripers. I caught three smallies, but nary a striper to
be found. A very small boil began around the boat at one time, but
ended at once. I tossed a Kastmaster into it a few times to no avail.
I did see some strange birds on the lake again, probably migratory on
their way south. I'll post photos on my site and maybe someone can
tell me what they are.
The weather was fine - the cloudy day and the autumn cooling was
pretty nice. But I'll be ready for summer again in about a month.
