It seems there aren't as many trip reports here as in the past, maybe
because of fuel expenses.
Previous to Wednesday the last time I gassed up my car with regular I
recall paying about $3.85 at the local Mobil which I always use.
Going to the dentist Wednesday I noticed that a Shell station had
regular for $4.14. Surprised me. I stopped at the Mobil and filled
up after the dentist and it was $3.94.
My wife filled up her car at the same place Thursday and paid $4.04.
I'm hearing that something like 50% of refining capacity is where Ike
is about to hit.
Doesn't look too good. Hearing $5.00 gas, and saw some stations have
it over $5.00 in NC.
A sailboat with a small motor or a powerboat that can be pushed with
a weedwhacker motor are starting to look like good options.
