The trim on this boat will not go up or down. I've checked the power
feeds and grounds and they are fine but all I get are clicks at the part
pictured below.
This looks a little different from the trim solenoids I've replaced in
the past but I'm assuming it's just a sealed unit that does the same thing.
Does anyone know the name of this part?
Do these things commonly fail? I'm having a hard time finding the part
on the internet.
Can I test the pump by bypassing this part - the pump has a Blue and
Green wire going to it.

Thanks for any help
Larry

Touch 12V to the blue lead the pump should activate and the drive moves
up. 12V to green should make the drive go down. That thing with the
circuit breaker might be a combo device with solenoids and breaker.
You'll figure it out.

OOPS! Hit too soon.

the pump motor , that is if it's a magnet field motor. your two wires
go to the brushes Possible to put positive on one wire, and neg. to
the other. Motor should run one direction, change the polarity and it
will run the other direction. That rule usually applies to magnet
motors though. Like an automotive window motor

Tim,

I was wondering where/how the motor was grounded but if you're correct, that
would make sense that there are just 2 wires and no obvious ground.

I'm going to test it in the morning but I wonder if I can do any damage testing
it like you describe.

The part I attached a photo of is called the Relay and Circuit Breaker Assembly
and cost close to $300. If the trim pump motor tests OK then the Relay Assembly
must be bad.

I'm learning that boats are like cars - sort of.

Thanks for your help
