Palin's Social Views Hurt Ticket

I had dinner last night with a Republican-leaning independent who was
despondent over John McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his
running mate. She had been looking forward to supporting McCain as a
fiscal conservative with a deep understanding of foreign relations. But
all she could now see was that picture of Palin's pregnant 17-year-old
looking defiant and stupid as she held mom's fifth baby.

I still am not comfortable with McCain's choice of VP, but the fact that
Harry is going over the deep end, cut and pasting his political dirt,
says that he is very concerned about Obama losing. One would think if
he really wanted to help his party, he would want to volunteer to do
something productive to help. The cut and paste and name calling in
rec.boats will have no effect on most voters and it is likely will chase
some independents to vote for McCain.
