Ok i bought the boat with 5.7 mercruiser 1990 350 cdi . It has water
oil mix on the oil stik and it is not starting where shuld I start
looking. I did notice small water driping on the sides of manifolds
Today I removed intake and find out that the head is cracked. I will
take apart the rest of the engine and check if anything els is bad .
Do you guys know where can I buy used parts for 5.7 V8 1990 350 cdi
Any wrecking yard. Take the head with you so you can get a matching head.
Can you please tell me if is going to fit from GM cars and wich
ones . What do I have to look for when I'm maching them
Today I discovered cracked block too so I have cracked blok and head.
I will need new engine what is the good place for used engines

Your boat is 19 years old. It needs a complete repower.- Hide quoted text -

New out drive was installed last year rest of the boat is in excelent
shape. I will replace engine . What els should be done ?

I'd go with a complete OEM engine. And the EFI option is worth the few
extra bucks. Putting old accessory parts into a junkyard engine isn't
going to buy you reliability or longevity. Putting new accessory parts
into a junkyard engine isn't going to save you much money vs a complete
new OEM engine.
