It may be fun to ridicule the military but those are the people who
gave you that right with their blood.
Have you noticed that JimH has been very quiet about Harry's
negative comments about those in the military and ridiculing those
who believe in Christ? *I guess when your only friend is harry, you
have to spend your time criticizing JohnH's travel trailer.
Doesn't the major John allow differing opinions in the
drone..er..dwarf army?
How about a little respect for LtCol John. If you are going to
belittle him you could at least get his rank correct. And, you could
congratulate him on finally reaching full retirement age. Did you now
he was subject to recall at any time by the US Army until he reached
hist 62nd birthday?
Say what?
You could have knocked me over with a feather.... a man who attained
that rank... leading men during wartime..yet acting like he does here?
God help America!
It's not a big deal. Lieutenant colonel is the rank at which most
officers retire. If you are an officer and stay in the army long enough,
15 or 20 years, you'll make that rank as a minimum. A friend from the
1980s, much younger than me, made the Army his career. He's a major
general and in Iraq right now, finishing up his last four months before
returning stateside, with a couple of months at that time until
retirement. I don't recall his exact age, except that he's in his 50's.
Oh, and unlike Herring, my friend is an officer and a gentlemen. Herring
is a horse's ass.
Major is the rank at which most officers retire. Major means you get 20
years, LtCol means you get 26 years and full Col means you get 30 years.
The equivalent squid rank to a Major is LCdr.
So that is the minimum based on how long you stay in? I did not know
that.
How about those who perform above expectations at their job over 20 or
25 years?
