You might want to spend a bit of time actually reading some of the
proposals out on the table rather than depending upon your personal
ignorance.
That is, if you are really interested.
Herring, a military retiree, is already sucking on the taxpayer teat for
his health care.
I read your reply four times, and I don't see an answer to my question.
Perhaps you don't have one. That's OK, because I don't have one, either.
If you have a url for the details of Sen. Obama's universal health care
proposal, especially the part where he tells how it is to be funded,
please post it here and I'd be happy to go read it.
Hey, TJ! I'm 'Herring', the military retiree Harry is referring to. Don't
know why, but I'm he.
Yes, I'm already sucking on the taxpayer teat. But that's 'cause I fed the
taxpayer's cow for a bunch of years. Harry dodged the draft, so he is
sucking off the union members' teats.
In any case, you shouldn't argue with Harry. Get him to take you on his
lobster boat instead.

I'm beginning to see that. He sounds like the type that gives his cause
a bad name, no matter what that cause is. He also sounds like he's
bitter about not being rich, and he blames others for that, the current
government in particular. In reality, this country gives him more
opportunities to become one of those rich people he despises so much
than most others, but it isn't just handed to you by the government -
you have to go after it yourself. But, like many other bitter,
frustrated people, he can't see that. If you look to the government to
solve your problems for you, you're looking in the wrong direction.
Asset-wise, I'm probably one of those rich Americans Harry hates so
much. But maintaining those assets and keeping them debt-free keeps my
bank account low, most likely much lower than his. The government isn't
to blame for that, I am. I made a few decisions that turned out to be
mistakes. My business is weather-dependent, and all the old rules about
what to do no longer work as they once did. I have to adapt, make new
rules, and I'd be most pleased if the government would leave me alone to
work it out myself.
Of course, as we all know, had Al Gore won the Electoral vote back in
2000, we'd be another Norwegian-style utopia by now, with global warming
solved. Yeah, right. Liberals, Conservatives, there's little difference
in results. The only difference is in the pet projects they pursue.

Sounds like you've got the situation well in hand. Now they'll be talking
about the 27 dwarfs.
What business are you in?
