Check the watter shutter. When they go it sounds like an intermittant
rattleing noise. The noise usually goes away after the engine warms up.

Hey all... I wish I could give back what I get from this group...
Anyways,
I'm having another problem...a small one I hope... when I'm in gear
(havn't
tried in reverse) and above 1000RPMs I hear a kind of a rattleing
clanging
noise coming from the back end... my thoughts are U-Joints and Gimbal
(as
I
didn't replace them when I did the bellows') It seems to getting mildly
worse as I use the boat more... it's a 77 Mercruiser 140... If it turns
out
to be the U-Joints, do I need to replace just the U-Joints or do I need
to
replace the whole shaft?
