Well, now, I'm sure we'd agree that any policy adopted by the military
that led to an increased use of illegal drugs would be a bad one. While I
believe possession of personal amounts of marijuana should be completely
decriminalized for the general population, I don't believe such relaxation
should extend to the military.

So, so far you are incorrect on whether we would agree.

Sure 'nuff. Gotta keep an open mind. The breeze clears out the cobwebs
as well.

BTW .... I understand your reluctance to embrace the PRC and, to that I also
agree. However, I think it is wise to pay attention to what is going on
over there. Like it or not, China is going to have a major influence on all
of our lives in the future.

I also think the seeds have been planted over there for serious political
and social reforms in the future. We are witnessing the early birth of a
potential revolution leading to Democracy. The Chinese people have been
kept in the dark for centuries ... even predating Mao and communism, but
once the light is turned on, people gain some prosperity and knowledge, it
is increasingly difficult to turn the light back off.

I do pay attention - close attention - to what happens in the PRC, and
have done so since the Nixon Administration. I won't dispute the
influence China is having and will have on world affairs.

Actually, China, Russia, and the United States are all heading in the
same direction, towards a repressive society operated only for the
benefit of the very few very rich.
