What kind of boats, and how big, Steve? And how urgent is your
deadline? One method I almost used to ship a canoe to Hong Kong from
the US was to find someone who was moving there and had a container
coming over.

Hmm, I suspect that you can contact the airlines and see about
shipping them as airfreight (not the cheapest method, but the
fastest). The Star is shorter than a pair of skis, and should easily
fit in the hold of a passenger plane. The New Wave might be a bit more
troublesome, but they ship things longer than that all the time.

A cheaper alternative would be sea freight: contact a shipping agent
(moving company) and ask them about it. From trying to import boats to
Asia, I know that sending individual boats can be much more
troublesome than sending a containerful. For that matter, contact some
boat manufacturers (Mad River, or Old Town) and see if they have a
delivery going over, and if they will let you pay to add your boat to
their container.
