You need to look at the photo again, but this time put on your
glasses. There is definitely an optical illusion, see if you can
figure it out.
Maybe 4" of freeboard at the stern between the top of the motor
transom and the water level, and a small motor well. In any sort of
following sea, you'll get pooped, the water will rush over the motor
well, fill it, and pour into the cockpit.
It's a little more than four inches - I just went outand measured it
(something I've never done oddly) - it's twenty one inches from the
water line to the top of the live well.
I've actually taken waves over the stern, but the interesting thing is
that the boat floats like a freakin' cork and drains very quickly.
I'm sure it does, just as mine does.
