And a pic of Bomb Island - where Doolittle practiced for his famous

More later as soon as I can get them processed.
An interesting note, years ago, when I flew into the Columbia airport,
they still had the original runaway and hanger used by Doolittle during
his training exercise. They kept the lines painted on the runaway that
the pilots used to represent the length they had on the carrier. If
they didn't lift off before they hit the line, they knew they just
landed in the ocean.
It's still there at the original airport - including an intact B-25.
I actually meet someone who was on Doolittle's Raid. After the war, he
started a wholesale distributor to service the textile industry in SC.
On his office wall he had all the photos of his plane, his squadron and
Doolittle. While he had that little memorial to his squadron, I was
told he didn't like to talk about it, so i didn't ask any questions.
Cool beans.
