I can't help but notice that Capt. Joe sometimes is posting from Miami.
Being just a hop, skip and jump from Miami in Paradise in the Florida
Keys
and possessed of a stout, capable, been there-done that, little blue
water
voyager, I am offering, gratis, sailing lessons for the hapless skipper
of
the erstwhile motor sailer, "Red Cloud."
Included in these free sailing lessons will be the following important
topics.
1) How to select competent crew
2) How to weather a cold front at sea.
3) How to make sure your vessel is seaworthy.
4) How to rid yourself of that yellow stripe up your back.
5) How to research the local weather patterns so as to take maximum
possible
advantage of prevailing weather patterns - i.e. when to go and when not
to
go.
6) How to realize pilothouse sailboats are not seaworthy.
7) Understanding that GRP trumps steel every time when it comes to blue
water sailing yachts.
8) How to know that coffee isn't where it's at.
9) How to know in your heart that trying and failing is failing. So
simple.
10) How to realize that women have no place at sea unless they are being
used as chum.
Please consider my serious offer. I'd hate to think poor Joe will go out
there and fail again simply because nobody offered to teach him how to
succeed.

Please be advised that the advertizement shown above is fraudulent in
nature as it is posted under an assumed name, from a false address,
and falsely claims to provide services that the posting entity is not
qualified to provide.
Additional information regarding this matter has been provided to the
U.S. Coast Guard and the Dade County Attorney for further action.
Free sailing lessons don't come under the auspices of the USCG. Anybody
can
do them as evidenced by Jon Boy Ganz prior to his finally doing the right
thing and getting a Captain's license. But even were I to charge for them,
I
would be entirely legal as I am licensed by the Coast Guard as a Master
and,
as such, am entitled to receive pay from passengers.

You seem extremely selective about what portion of the above message
you respond to. One assumes that you then agree with the substance of
the first paragraph.
One is always well advised to avoid responding to that type of ignorant
speculation.
