Main reason for this post is to see if this picture can be viewed by
people who are not registered on the target web site. I think it will
work, but won't know for sure unless I try.

This is my son's boat on the weed choked St Johns River (at Blue
Springs)
in Central Florida. Actually, the weeds aren't that bad this year, but
there is a lot of idle/no wake zones because of the manatees. I guess
that's OK though because all the alligators & manatees make for a bumpy
ride if you get going very fast.

Is that the Silver River near Silver Springs, Florida?

Almost. The Silver Springs Run is a tributary of the St Johns. Upstream
a bit from Blue Springs.- Hide quoted text -

Not quite.
The Silver Springs run exits into the Oklawaha River which ends at the
St. Johns north of Lake George.
However, this is not navigable as the Rodman Dam is near the end of
the Ocklawaha. It has no boating locks.
The dam was built as part of the Cross FL. Barge Canal boondoggle
canceled by, I think, Nixon. The enviros have been trying to get the
dam removed for years. Good thing I think, but they have been blocked
by bubbas with bassboats, as the reservoir has turned into a major
Bass fishery.

What you call Silver Springs run is actually the Silver River, isn't it?
