The scam at the Toyota dealer's is to 'suggest' that every auto be

every 3000 instead of 5000 miles, regardless of usage. And then they have
about $25 worth of 'extra dealer items', such as 'friction proofer' and
other additives that are routinely added, unless they're told up front

to do it.
I'm very careful to tell them I want the 'book' service when I go in.
I give up. What the hell is friction proofer?
It goes by many names: Pixie Dust, Snake Oil ; fairy dust; Mystery
Oil, Slick 50 etc.
It is a very effective way to quickly and easily, with very little
friction to lube money from your wallet into their wallet.
Yeah! That stuff!
Last week my wife took her Highlander in. I looked at the bill, and she
paid for all the extra ****, even though I'd told her to tell them exactly
what the book said.
When I asked her about it, she said, "Well, Elliot said I should do it."
I almost told her to go marry Elliot.
