Here in central Iowa, the local flood control/recreation lake is
twenty feet above normal. Lots of beaches and boat ramps are closed.

It was a zoo at Falls Lake in Raleigh NC on Saturday. *Boats
everywhere.


That's good news! It makes my plan to move to the Wake Forest area more
tenable. (Sure hope I used that word properly!)

The start of summer around here is usually busy with a high percentage of
newbees crowded around at the ramp. *It's entertaining if you don't let it
get to you. *But the high boat traffic made the lake a bit choppy. *After a
month or so traffic will drop off a bit. *I suspect that some number of
people get into boating and decide it's not really their cup of tea.- Hide quoted text -
