Marty, you can get the D40 with 18-55 lens, 2 GB memory card and free
ship/no tax from Buydig.com for 469.00. They are a very good
authorized seller. Used they are usually 50-100 bucks cheaper, so
you're really better buying new and get a fresh camera with warranty.
I know a lot of people have a tough time paying more than 150 dollars
for a camera, but this would be money well spent and it would serve
you well. If you don't have the money lying around (due to fixed
income or whatever) it's still worth saving up for.

Thanks again Bob, the last camera I bought, 2003, was about 250 bucks,
470 from a US store is going to go to more like 600 by the time it gets
up here, GST + PST + Shipping + Brokerage..... But I'll see what I can
do locally.
