Jim, this really strikes me odd, because Tom is usually good natured
about things, and doesn't seem to frustrate or insult easily. I am
registered over at Chucks, and will probably be posting there more
often. I know the clientel of rec.boats and there is a lot of back 'n
forthing that does seem a bit obnoxious, but the china-spammers are
taking over quickly. and unfortunately.....

I haven't talked to Tom about this, but if you look at the posts, it
is pretty clear good most knowledgeable posters don't come here as
often as they used to. I despise web based forums, but it is better
than putting up with what has been going on here and that is where I
have spent most of my time lately.

The signal to noise ratio has become so low that the current content
earns very little of my time. YMMV, but I think others are just so
tired of this, too, that they will be moving on, as well.



I'm only visiting these days to see how long it takes for rec.boats to
be totally taken over by Loogy, Reggie, the Krueger Twins, Flatulent Jim
of Florida, Herring, and the rest of the non-contributing snarks. We do
owe this place a decent burial.

Interestingly, none of them seem to have re-emerged on the actual
boating/fishing forums, at least not with their handles here or their
behavior patterns.
