It might be slightly magnetic, if it is a 400 or 600 series
(martensitic) stainless. (Example: 440C-Buck knife blade.)
Good point.
Fasteners, though, should probably be a 300 series and be
non-magnetic, since the 400 series is less resistant to corrosion.
Well, I have not had good luck with magnetic stainless - rusts
eventually and has to be replaced.
