Actually we needed another workstation

Im keeping a desk and my pc here for the time being.
I went up to the TigerDirect store in North Raleigh
Sunday to see what they had.
I got:
Acer Veriton M410
Windoze Xp Pro SPII
1GB DDRII
AMD Sempron 3800+
160GB SATA
Built in video/LAN/sound
Brand new, not a refurb.
$379.00 plus tax.
After 2 hours of downloading/installing "updates"
...She works fine.

Learn something every day. I had no idea TigerDirect had retail store
outlets. What are the stores like? Are they *big* stores with lots'o'stuff?
Yessir,
Its a regular geek-o-rama over there. This location in particular
has a relatively small footprint but manages to squeeze ALLOT of stuff in there.
Narrow aisles make browsing a little *tight* when crowded. They do have
some killer deals though, you just have to get in early before they
sell out of a particular item. They also sell flat screen HDTV's as well.
Come to think of it, who doesn't these days?
I've purchased refurb pc's there for our business at unheard of prices
and never had a problemo.

Thanks. After reading your post, I spent some time looking over TD's web
site. I never before noticed that it had a link that led to its stores.
None around here, though.
If you want a big time football field of geeks, check out a Microcenter
if you are ever in one's neighborhood. We have two in the DC 'burbs. I
frequent the Virginia store. It's as big as a football field inside, or
so it feels.
