Well if you want to look on the positive side, as least it is not as
obnoxious as "Love Bugs". I was in Orlando when they swarmed and that
was nasty.

How long does the average swarm last? I think I would try to stock up on
food supplies and telecommute to work. 
For a given area, I would say 1 to 2 weeks. They do seem to migrate from
place to place.
Here in Central Florida 1~2 weeks would be a blessing. The early event
usually in May typically lasts 4~5 Weeks. The next coming of the little
buggers starts in mid-August to early September and usually doesn't last
quite as long. Last year the *seasons* were particularly on the long side.
