I spent exactly six hours in Okinawa - never even got past the air
field gate.

My son and girlfriend have been traveling SE Asia for the last 3 months.
They have criss crossed Thailand, Laos and Cambodia (I don't know why
they didn't make it to Viet Nam. They would spend time in the larger
cities and in also in the country. They lived with some of the native
tribes helping them with projects and "trekking" in the mountains, coast
and rain forest. He just took off for India via Bangladesh.

It must be nice to be young without any responsibilities. It looks like
he will spend 7 months traveling using the money he saved since
graduating in mid May. Not a bad deal to work for 6 months then travel
for 7 months.

After this adventure he will begin his PhD program in August. From his
online blog, he has meet many people who are taking a break and
traveling before they start their post graduate work.
