Are you a proponent of outcome based educaiton? In my county, where my
daughters attend public school, the have change a failing grade from an
F for failure to E which to me means failure but we don't want to hurt
the feelings of those who are failing.
Failure is not a bad thing. You learn the most when you fail.
John changed the subject because he is drunk. Don't follow him down that

I would readily follow John H. But you, I wouldn't even waste any time

Before this branch of the thread gets too cluttered, go back 2-3 messages
and see how he completely lost track of what was happening.
Even better, here's how it happened. He latched onto the word "ignorant",
and turned it into something completely different. Don't feed it.
If you live in New England, you would have to be pretty ignorant of
your surroundings not to know who Elliot Spitzer is. Add to that the
fact that the stories you are looking at are filed from NEW YORK,
where it would be pretty silly to mention that Spitzer is a democrat
every time his name is printed. How often do they put the word
Republican after the name of Jodie Rell, Governor of Connecticut? I
think you'll find that they occasionally mention it when it is
actually pertinent to the story, and pretty much never as part of a
headline or lead paragraph unless it's a story about the republican
party position on something.
