I have used AVG in the past. I seem to recall it affecting my boot speed
and or program load/run time. Sorry that's all I remember and
improvements may have been made to the software since. I have been using
Avast for the last couple of years and have no complaints about it. It
even found an attempted invasion a few months ago.


Likely *all* anti-vi programs will impact boot speed a little and
program load time a little or a lot. On my notebook, AVG impacted both
less than other anti-vi programs I tried, but of course AVG did impact
them some.
