That's odd. Garmin still has the latest update for my old GPS12CX
(latest update 3/24/99) on their download page. I think the G45 was
about the same vintage.


Garmin's early receivers like the 45 (and pre-version 3.5 12XLs) were
not field-upgradable.

I think the OP's 45 should, given time, fresh batteries, and a clear
view of the sky, recover. (although I had an old Garmin 128 on my
boat that can no longer find satellites - don't know if the problem is
antenna or receiver, but it did work last fall...)

Thank you for your answer., Peter; But I remember in 1999 downloading
an update through the internet to correct the rollover problem and
loading it through the serial input. Maybe it was just a parameter in
RAM. It seems to have lost this one.
