Hello readers please take a moment to view the following:

A 17 m yacht "Melanie" was recently destroyed in a sudden and violent
storm, please go tohttp://www.lostyacht.orgfor pictures and more
information. (this is a donation site)

First reaction was: donation, they must be kidding.. But then I read
the comments to that post... and as I disagreed with the tone (though
not the content) of quite a few, I decided to donate.

Disparaging comments on french socialism (or worse) are welcome ;-)

I'm just wondering how, with all the trauma of finding her home smashed
to pieces, Julie still managed to find the wherewithal to have herself
photographed holding said pieces. That doesn't make any sense to me.

Perhaps for the sympathy wallet.

Ruby (and neither does the part where they ask for donations!)

It wasn't their home, they have an apartment or other dwelling.

They bought an uninsurable boat.

Do you have boat insurance? Why?

Would you buy an uninsurable house in a flood area? All boats
is live in a "flood" area.

They screwed up,but are far from indigent.

Of course I feel for them and the loss of their boat, but there are many
better causes to give my $$ to.

Has anyone considered this entire affair may be a SCAM? It would be
easy to throw up a page with a PayPal donation button.
Hmmmm......please visit my webpage, www.blueseas.com, and send me a
few bucks for my little orphan puppy who has a special needs diet. $5
or $10 per month will help...........
