I prefer Florida's east coast.
Yes, and I understand why.
You do? Why is that, W'hine?
The east coast is more urban, more traffic, more crime and more like
the place the people were trying to get away from in the first place.
People come to Florida "to get away from it all",
then they want to bring it all here.
Never had any "crime" problems in all the years I've been visiting south
Florida. Don't spend a lot of time "driving around" when I am there. I
do love the beaches, the multi-cultural atmosphere, the art galleries,
the other cultural venues, the fishing, the fabulous restaurants and the
shopping between Boca and Miami Beach. SW area of Florida is just too
dull and distant for my taste, but I do understand why many go there to
"get away" from it all.- Hide quoted text -

Well, the atmosphere has certainly changed. When I was a kid, my
auntie owned a row of condos on Ft. Lauderdale beach. I remember
hunkering down one time looking out the bottom floor windows at an
incoming storm and saw my first waterspout, and after the Portugese
man o war jelly fish on the beach. Anyway, about 10 years later she
sold the property as it was no longer an area really suited for older
folks and families. I still wish my dad had picked up that little
place on Pine Island, that was sweet...
